Radical Self-Love: Accepting Yourself AS IS (2 hours)
In a society that bombards us with the idea that we are never quite enough, accepting yourself AS IS can feel like a truly radical act. Be a rebel for LOVE and join Katie Beane, RYT 200hr for a gentle yet energizing Yoga flow accompanied by good tunes and plenty of laughter. Throw out the notion that you need to be anyone or anything other than who and what you are RIGHT NOW and practice saying "yes!" to ALL of you--on and off your mat. No prior experience is necessary. Yoga For All of Us: A Special Class for Diverse Bodies (2 hours)
Have you wanted to try yoga, but your feelings about your body have prevented you? Maybe you already practice, but would like to learn about alignment and/or accommodations for YOUR body. There is no need to wait to start your yoga journey or to deepen and strengthen your individual practice. This workshop explores yoga, breathwork, and meditation in a safe, fun, body-positive environment with students of all shapes, sizes, and ability levels. (Note: You do not have to be a specific size to attend, but this workshop will pay special attention to the needs of those with larger bodies and/or injuries.) |
Yoga For All of Us--for Teachers (3 hours)
As teachers we have the tremendous honor and responsibility to do our best to create classes that are safe, fun, effective, and meaningful—for ALL of our students—even the ones who may not fit the description of a typical practitioner. Every body can practice yoga when it is taught in a manner that respects and celebrates differences and encourages building strength, balance, flexibility, and self-acceptance. This workshop is designed for teachers who are committed to teaching in a manner that is sensitive, considerate, and accessible. Participants will learn specific language, cues, accommodations, and sequencing. Be a teacher who accepts, encourages, empowers, and inspires by preparing yourself to teach ALL students.
